Programs

The University of Algarve participates in the Erasmus programme since 1993 and holds an Erasmus Charter. The internationalisation of the University is well demonstrated by the successful partnership in various projects under several cooperation programmes such as Lifelong Learning, Erasmus Mundus, External Cooperation Window, Tempus and Atlantis.

Of its 10,000-student population, 10% are foreign students, of which nearly half are at the University under bilateral agreements and cooperation programmes, mainly Erasmus and Erasmus Mundus.

Visiting staff (teaching and non-teaching) and students from other countries contribute to new ways of thinking and add to the dynamic academic population a multicultural atmosphere. International students can either study at the University through an exchange programme or as full students.
