Nuno Marques has a degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. He is Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Algarve and Cardiologist at the Espirito Santo Hospital, Évora. Since 2016, he has been the President of the Executive Council of the Academic Center for Research and Biomedical Training of the Algarve - Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC). He is also the President and founding member of the SUNSHINE association, a consortium of Portuguese Cardiologists dedicated to research in Cardiology. His research focuses on the study of diseases of the pericardium and myocardium, as well as the identification of the molecular mechanisms involved in congenital heart disease. He published 27 articles in national and international journals, resulting in an h-index of 6. He currently participates as a team member in a scientific research project. He was awarded 2 Merit awards from the University of Lisbon.
