Open day

With the objective of disseminating the training offer and making known the pedagogical and scientific work developed at the University of Algarve, Dia Aberto presents a varied program with activities of an informative, pedagogical, experimental and playful nature.

Target Audience

The initiative is aimed at 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th year students and their teachers, but also other educational agents, seeking to include parents and other interested citizens.

Date

In 2024, the initiative will be held on 16 and 17 April.

Registration

From 26th February to 5th April.

Programme

The program includes varied initiatives on both campuses (Penha and Gambelas), where experimental activities, lectures and workshops, guided tours, exhibitions and sports activities will take place.

Transportation

Visiting groups must organize their transport to Faro.

  • City bus / rental
Groups that are transported on their own bus should, upon arrival, go to the campus reception where the first activity of their program will take place to receive the welcome kit. Routes between campuses must be organized using their buses.

  • Train
Groups that are transported by train to the CP station in Faro will then use the buses made available by the University of Algarve to circulate between campuses. Expecting a significant increase in passengers on this day, groups are requested to contact CP in advance, via email gruposlc-rg@cp.pt for booking tickets. This way, they can benefit from discounted rates for groups, with discounts between 10% and 30% (depending on the distance traveled).

  • Public road transport
Groups traveling by public bus should leave at the terminal station in Faro. From there, they will use the buses provided by the University of Algarve.

  • Other ways
Groups that are transported by other means (on foot, own transport) should, on arrival, go to the campus reception where the first activity in their program will take place to receive the welcome kit. The routes between campuses can be provided by buses provided by the University of Algarve. To do so, they must indicate on the form that “they need“ transport to make the visits between the two campuses ”.

  • The price of the meal is € 3.25 for students and € 6.00 for teachers and accompanying persons and passwords must be collected on the day of the visit.
