What level of knowledge of the language of instruction is required?

The applicant must provide evidence, by means of a certificate, that he/she is an independent user of the language in which the course is taught, in accordance with levels B1 and B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
If the standard of language skills that the applicant has is level B1 of the CEFR he must attend and successfully complete a one-year language course taught at the UAlg.
If the applicant cannot produce a certificate attesting to his level of knowledge of the language of instruction, his/her application is conditional upon successfully passing an examination, to be scheduled on dates and at locations to be announced in due time.
Language proficiency is not applicable to applicants who have attended secondary school or equivalent in the language of instruction.
