gradually restart in-person activities
Given the end of the state of emergency, next Monday we will gradually restart in-person activities. Following the recommendations of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, the University of Algarve’s plan for a progressive lifting of the containment measures motivated by the COVID-19 pandemic was approved .
We have lived and we will continue to live in exceptional times. Your response has been extraordinary, showing strong resilience to overcome this challenge. We are fully aware that it has not been easy. We all want to physically return to university.
- the effort made to adapt to distance learning;
- the fact that many students have returned to their permanent residences;
- the need to ensure stability and predictability in the teaching-learning process;
In dialogue with the Faculties and the AAUAlg, it was decided that the academic calendar for the academic year 2019/20 remains valid, namely the conclusion of the 2nd Semester’s classes on May 26, and maintaining the teaching activities in the distance learning regime.
At the beginning of next week, a rector’s dispatch will be published with more detailed information on the exceptional functioning of school activities until the end of the 2019/2020 academic year (classes and evaluation).
On May 4, the gates of our university will once again be open to the entire academic community. Canteens and libraries will reopen. Academic Services, Social Action Services, the Office of International Affairs and Mobility and the administration of the Faculties will continue to privilege non-face-to-face service.
