«First of all I would like to thank Kasetsart University and Universidade do Algarve (UAlg) at Campus de Gambelas for giving me such a great opportunity to participate in the Merging Voices Project for administrative staff training. It has been one very productive, efficient and above all unforgettable experience in Portugal. This program was a great experience for me. The 5 days period that I spent in Faro is one of the best experiences in my life!

I was lucky enough to have been chosen to receive this scholarship. Faro is an excellent place to visit and the best location to study. Faro offers history, culture that is set in a relaxing environment and has some of the best beaches in the Algarve.

I would recommend the University of Algarve especially to students from my country, Thailand and international students from other countries.  My experience here is helping me to gain more knowledge which I believe will help me to develop my work.

The Merging Voices Project gave me an opportunity to widen my views, to think out of the box. And about the staff here at the Gabinete de Relações Internacionais e Mobilidade (GRIM), all are well educated, professional trained, helpful and also very much friendly. I can't thank you enough for the kindness everyone gave me.

I hope that one day we can see each other again!.»

Programme: Erasmus+ KA103 STA

«I visited the Universidade do Algarve for an Erasmus+ KA 103 Staff Mobility in May 2017. Participating in the Erasmus+ mobility scheme widened my horizons at a personal and professional level. The exchange of good practices resulted in the acquisition of new competences for both parties involved by becoming familiarised with a different culture, different higher education system as well as different working procedures.

What impressed me the most at the International Relations Office was the personal attention and individualised assistance provided by the staff to the incoming and outgoing staff and students. The quality service provided was inspiring and remarkable.

At a personal level it was an extraordinary experience. Portugal and Faro in particular are enchanting. The food amazing, the people kind, polite and full of smiles and the beauty of the landscape of this region unique!
I would definitely recommend this University to my colleagues and our students since I know they will also be welcomed by the International Relations family of this great University. As the motto of the Universidade do Algarve very correctly indicates: Estudar onde e bom Viver!!!!!»

NaME: Anna Branets - staff training MOBILITY

SERVICE: Leading Specialist of the Office for International Cooperation
INSTITUTION: Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
COUNTRY: Ukraine
YEAR: 2015/2016
Programme: MID

«I have participated in MID staff mobility at the International and Mobility Office of University of Algarve during 1 month in 2015. The purpose of this visit was to initiate an exchange of experience and good practice between the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the University of Algarve. Participating in an Erasmus Staff Mobility Programme was an exciting experience and an important learning tool for developing my professional skills and gaining exchange knowledge with colleagues from the University of Algarve. I was undertaking my Mobility in a difficult time for the International Office: 350 incoming students were arriving, and I had an opportunity to see the internal work and organizational system of the International Office and to become a part of it.
During my stay, I was working separately at every department of the International Office by studying its work system and sharing experience from my Home University. In the last week of my Mobility, I dedicated my time to activities of the welcome session for incoming students.
The Office for International Cooperation at the University of Algarve displays a well-organized internal system with a high level of international activity. It is one of the best representatives in international area administration that shows a high quality of international affairs functioning. My Mobility at the Office for International Cooperation was the first step in developing a strategic partnership between the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the University of Algarve. This will provide new perspectives on international practice and approaches. As a result of my Mobility, the Bilateral Agreement between the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the University of Algarve was determined to be a good start of lasting cooperation between two universities. To sum up, I want to say that this MID Project helped me to gain new experience for the International Office of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and, of course, personally for me and my career development. Moreover, I am very grateful to my Portuguese colleagues for warm welcome at the International and Mobility Office. It was a great pleasure to have known and worked with them. Many thanks for making my stay in Portugal unforgettable.»
