Conditions of access:
a) Degree in Biology or related field by a Portuguese university;
b) Holders of a foreign higher education degree equivalent to a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the Bologna Process by a state adhering to this process;
c) Holders of a foreign higher education degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the degree of “licenciado” (bachelor of science);
d) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum attesting to the ability of the candidate to carry out the Master of Science in Aquaculture and Fisheries.
The acceptance of a candidate based on criteria b) to d) is the responsibility of the Scientific Council (Conselho Científico) of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology (Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia) of Algarve University and does not confer to the candidate formal recognition or equivalency to the degree of “licenciado” or any other academic degree.
Criteria for selection of the candidates: Adequacy and final grade of the undergraduate degree; professional, scientific and academic curriculum; global profile.
Necessary documents: Curriculum vitae (with personal, academic and professional information); certificates of qualification with the discrimination of the classifications obtained in each unit; proof of payment of the registration fee (50€).

Note: The tuition fee can be paid in 8 installments . The fists installment has to be paid at the time of registration and the remaining in the months of October, November, December, February, March, April and May.
* an international student is a student who does not have Portuguese nationality. The fee stipulated for international students is does not apply to (in accordance with Decree-Law No. 36/2014):
a) Nationals of a Member State of the European Union;
b) Nationals from any other country, not a member of the European Union, who have been legally resident in Portugal for more than two years, uninterruptedly, on 31 August of the year in which they intend to enter higher education, as well as their children legally residing with them.
