I am Assistant Professor with Aggregation at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve and full member of the Center for Advanced Studies in Management and Economics (CEFAGE), belonging to the University of Algarve branch of this research center. I have a PhD in Industrial and Business Studies from the University of Warwick and a Master of Arts in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Manchester. My main research interests include performance assessment and improvement of organizations and systems; Development of composite indicators; The use of the non-parametric technique known as Data Envelopment Analysis; The measurement of Quality of Life; Capable ageing. I have published several articles in journals indexed in the Web of Science, such as the European Journal of Operational Research; Omega - The International Journal of Management Science; The Annals of Operations Research and the Journal of Business Research.
