Assistant researcher at the S2AQUAcoLAB. Holds a degree in Biochemistry and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, and >12 years of scientific research and science communication experience in the areas of bone biology and skeletal disease. Published 22 peer-reviewed publications (+2 under review and several in prep.), 1 book chapter, participated in 9 national & international projects (>1.4 M€), and communicated scientific findings in >45 national & international meetings (22 oral communications, 1 keynote lecture). Supervised 10 BSc/MSc students and took a role in 6 evaluation committees. Was awarded 1 Postdoctoral grant from UGENT (BE), 1 PhD fellowship from FCT (PT), 1 science communication grant from FCG (PT), 3 research grants from EuroSoftCalcNet COST (EU) and ASSEMBLE+ (EU), and the Best Poster Award at the 5th IAFSB International Meeting. Organized 2 international conferences on fish bone biology (IAFSB 2018 & 2022), 1 national science communication congress (SciComPT 2015) and 4 international workshops on drug screening systems. Peer reviews for Springer, Elsevier and Nature Research journals.
