Patrícia Pinto holds a BSc in Business Administration (1993), a MSc in Economics and Business Administration (1997) and a PhD (2004) and Habilitation (2013) in Quantitative Methods Applied to Economics and Management (QMAEM) (branch of Statistics) from the Faculty of Economics, University of the Algarve (FEUAlg). She began her academic journey as a tutor during the final year of her BSc degree, and she is currently a full professor at FEUAlg. She primarily taught courses in quantitative data analysis (statistics and econometrics) and research methods (in bachelors, masters and PhD programs). After concluding her doctoral research, which explored the use of advanced statistical models to better understand pro-environmental consumer behaviour, she seized the opportunity to apply these models to advance knowledge on tourism management, initiating her career as a researcher in this field. Currently she is an enthusiastic researcher in tourism and an integrated member at the Research Centre for Tourism, Sustainability and Well-being (CinTurs), previously the Research Centre for Spatial and Organisational Dynamics (CIEO). Patrícia assumed the coordination of CinTurs in 2018 and was Vice-President of CIEO from 2015 to 2017. She has experience as Principal Investigator (PI) and as CO-PI in research projects with international funding and she participated as a team member in other funded projects. Patrícia authored or co-author around 130 publications, including 37 scientific articles and 9 chapters during 2018-23. To date, Patrícia supervised 17 PhD and 37 MSc students. She is currently co-supervising 7 PhD students and 2 postdocs at FEUAlg, working on tourism related topics. Three of her PhD students were awarded with FCT studentships. During her career, Patrícia received some research awards, she is editor-in-chief of a scientific journal since 2015, and a reviewer for many top journals in the tourism field. She is also a reviewer of many international journals, including Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, Journal of Travel Research, Current Issues in Tourism, Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Destination Marketing & Management and Tourism Geographies. Patrícia was the director of the MSc in Marketing (2009-15), of the PhD program in QMAEM (2019-22) and the PhD program in Tourism (2022-23). Currently, she integrates the Directorate Board for these 3 courses of FEUAlg. Since December 2022, Patrícia is the UAlg 's pro-rector for the European Universities of the SEAS (SEA-EU).
