Education: PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of the Algarve, Portugal, graduated with "High Distinction and Honor". Current position: Postdoctoral Researcher at the Stem Cell lab, ABC-RI. Research line: Development of in vitro models of congenital heart diseases, using iPS cells derived from human patient samples. Sofia Calado was recently awarded with a Stimulus of Scientific Employment, Individual Support - 3rd Edition Contract to start in 2021. Participation in Research Projects: Total = 10 (6 National Projects in Portugal, 1 European Project and 3 National Project in Spain). Publications: Including original papers = 25. H-index = 11 (Google Scholar). Citations = 611 (Google Scholar). Communications in national and international meetings: Total of 21, including 2 oral communications and 3 oral invited communication. Supervision of students: Supervision of 3 theses (2 BSc and 1 MSc); Co-supervision of 5 theses (4 BSc; 1 MSc thesis and 1 PhD thesis). Teaching experience: Teaching assistant in 9 different courses for undergraduate and master students. Prizes received: Merit scholarship from the University of the Algarve; PhD scholarship from Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology; and two travel scholarships to attend international conferences. Other merits: Collaborator in four outreach events; Chair in the ESGCT Spring School, 2017 Edition; Member of the editorial board of The Journal of Human Physiology.
