The MED - Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development's main mission is to promote the sustainability of ecosystems and food security, for territorial cohesion and well-being.

The unit’s research focuses on eight thematic areas: Olive Groves and Olive Oil; Viticulture and Oenology; Horticulture; Animal Production and Health; Oak Groves; Irrigated Agriculture; Biodiversity; and Rural Dynamics and Governance; the aim is to answer questions and problems that arise in practice and, above all, are related to the new reality in the face of climate change.

Excellence in research is sought, producing solid scientific and technological knowledge, but also solutions for the sustainability of agro-ecosystems, environment and territories.
