Designation:  Weeping start and removal Description:  Invasive plants are non-native plants that cause negative environmental and economic impacts. Chorão is one of these cases. This is an exotic plant, because it was brought from South Africa and introduced in several countries for ornamental and medicinal reasons, but also to contain the movement of dunes and to control soil erosion. However, the impressive capacity for vegetative propagation (ie to reproduce without seed), and for the production and propagation of seeds, led the chorão to quickly colonize large areas, becoming an invasive plant, in the places where it was introduced. This activity intends to fight against this invader, removing it from Ancão beach, in order to help restore the native ecosystem.Target population: The entire educational community Dates and times: 28.11.2018 (Wednesday), from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm (meeting point at Campus da Penha at 9:00 am)Place: Ancão BeachArea: Environmental VolunteeringPromoting Entities: LIFE Volunteers Escapes and ESN Alg - Social Inclusion Days, APA and Loulé City HallState: Finished

For information about the UAlg V + Volunteer Group you should consult the UAlg website: / node / 133.

In this space you will find all the information you need, both regarding the Group (eg, coordinating team, contacts), as well as the regular and punctual activities taking place.

If you have any questions, whose answer is not available on the page, you can send an email to gvvmais@ualg.pt or directly contact a team member (preferably your organic unit / Service / center).

Any current (or past) member of the Academic Community can enroll in the UAlg V + group (ie, students, alumni, non-teaching staff, ex-teaching staff, teachers, ex-teachers, researchers and ex-researchers). In case of doubt, contact UAlg V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ) or your representative.

Registration in the UAlg V + Group is always done on the online form which is available on the “Participation / registration” tab.

If you want to sign up click here.

The requested information is intended exclusively for the University of Algarve. You should pay attention to the email and telephone contacts, as they are the form of contact between UAlg V + and the volunteer. If you find that you don't receive emails, go to your SPAM box. If you have not received any email, contact the coordination by sending an email to gvvmais@ualg.pt.

Personal data will only be provided to partner entities if the volunteer signs up for an activity at that institution. In this situation, the responsibility for the management of personal data rests entirely with the entity in question.

After submitting the application, you will receive an email from the UAlg V + Group indicating your acceptance and informing about the initial operation (ie, meetings, enrollment in activities, general volunteer training). In the initial email, you will also receive a document “Registration of Volunteer Activities”, which you must use when carrying out volunteer activities (ask your representative about the operation of this document).

If you have any questions regarding any UAlg V + procedure, you should contact your group representative (contacts available on the V + Online Page) or send an email to gvvmais@ualg.pt.

You can sign up for any specific or regular volunteering activity available on the online page, from the moment you receive the confirmation email for your registration.

It is essential to bear in mind that the UAlg V + Volunteer Group is only responsible (eg, for the purpose of certification) for activities mediated by the group, that is, publicized and / or accompanied by a member of the group. Thus, the UAlg V + Volunteer Group is only responsible for the activities reported via email or Page by the UAlg V + Group, with partner entities.

The initial interview is scheduled by the team member responsible for your organic unit (see in contacts who your representative is) when holding one of the semiannual meetings (see the “Volunteer Management” tab).

If you are unable to attend, it is always important that you notify your representative, as failure to appear at meetings can put you inactive at UAlg V + (more information is available below). If you have any questions regarding the interview, contact your representative.

To sign up for a regular UAlg V + volunteer activity you must ALWAYS do it through the UAlg page.

In the tab “Regular Actions” you will find a table with the various partner entities and their regular activities available. To optimize your potential enrollment in activities, essential information about the entity, activities and respective schedules are available. At the end, you will find a message with a link to proceed with your registration.

In case NONE, you should go directly to the entity to register. In these situations you may incur the penalty of certifying your hours, as we can only declare the activities that are managed by the V + Group. In the event of a similar situation, immediately alert the UAlg V + coordination via email: gvvmais@ualg.pt or contact your V + representative.

VERY IMPORTANT: if you sign up for one (or more) activities, don't forget that the entity and its beneficiaries count on your participation. So, if you want to give up or have to leave you should contact them ASAP, sending the email ALSO to the coordination of UAlg V +.

When attending regular volunteering activities, do not forget that you must have proof of the hours worked. When you register for the activity, you receive instructions via email on how to proceed with the registration of your hours. Always follow the procedure. In case of doubt, contact UAlg V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ) or your representative.

Information about most specific activities is sent to your email. However, you can also sign up directly on the UAlg page.

You have several partner entities and their specific activities available. To help you in your selection, some essential information about the activities and their schedules are available. At the end, you will find a message with a link to proceed with your registration or contact guidelines with the team promoting the activities (in this case, the partner entity).

In NO case should you address the entity directly. In these situations you may incur the penalty of certifying your hours, as we can only declare the activities that are managed by the V + Group. In the event of a similar situation, immediately alert the UAlg V + coordination via email: gvvmais@ualg.pt or contact your V + representative.

When you attend the occasional volunteer activity, remember that you must have proof of the hours worked. When registering for the activity, you will receive instructions via email on how to proceed regarding the registration of your hours. If you do not have any information available, the rule is always the same: complete the file “Registration of Volunteer Activities”, ask the organization of the activity to sign and stamp, and deliver a copy to the UAlg V + Group (preferably by email: gvvmais @ ualg .pt ). Always follow the procedure. In case of doubt, contact UAlg V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ) or your representative.

If you are interested in an activity that is being promoted by an entity that is not a partner of UAlg V + (confirm in the "Partnerships" tab), contact your UAlg V + representative or the coordination. The objective of the UAlg V + Group is, among other things, to promote a culture of volunteering, meeting the interests of the academic community and the wider community. Thus, not offering does not mean impossibility, just a different “path”.

To facilitate future contacts, you can indicate the name of an element of the entity with whom you want to collaborate in the future and their contact.

ATTENTION: The UAlg V + Group is not responsible for or certifies any activity carried out at an entity that is not a partner or without mediation by the UAlg V + Group.

In case of doubt, contact UAlg V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ) or your representative.

At least two meetings are scheduled per semester with volunteers per Organic Unit. Its timetable is available on the UAlg V + online page under the “Volunteer Management” tab.

These meetings serve to promote more personal contact between the representative of the UAlg V + Group and its volunteers, as well as between V + volunteers. Usually, at these times, the representative seeks to work on aspects such as new activities available, new partnerships made, scheduling / conducting interviews, presentation of experiences by volunteers, collection of volunteer interests, streamlining ways of functioning, among others.

If you are unable to attend a meeting, it is essential that you notify your representative, as missing meetings can put you inactive on UAlg V + (more information is available below). If you have any questions regarding the interview, contact your representative.

When you sign up for a punctual or regular volunteering activity, at the outset, you will receive information regarding the registration of hours worked.

The expected normal operation is always the same: fill in the file “Registration of Volunteer Activities”, ask the activity organization to sign and stamp, and deliver a copy to the UAlg V + Group (preferably by email: gvvmais@ualg.pt ). Always follow the procedure.

But there are partner institutions with whom the UAlg V + Group has parallel time recording procedures, in order to help and facilitate. In these cases, the volunteer is always notified when registering for this activity. In case of doubt, contact UAlg V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ) or your representative.

The completed, signed and stamped records regarding participation in activities must be scanned and sent to the coordination of UAlg V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ). However, as mentioned above, there are situations in which partner institutions have parallel time recording procedures, so they send the UAlg V + Group the number of hours worked by V + volunteers. In these cases, the volunteer is always notified when registering for this activity. In case of doubt, contact UAlg V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ) or your representative.

In order to systematize the process of issuing certificates, pay attention to the following instructions regarding the request and delivery of final certificates:

  1. At the end of each academic year, V + volunteers must send their digitized activity records to the Volunteer Group email address ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ), to update the records of activities carried out. Alternatively, they can deliver on paper to the representative of the Organic Unit to which they belong or to the coordination of the Group.
  2. In the case of students, certificates will only be issued to final year students in the current academic year (except for some duly substantiated situation) and will include all activities in which students participated from the date of enrollment in the Volunteer Group until the date of application of the certificate. In the case of the remaining members (teachers, non-teaching staff and researchers), the request for issuance can be made annually (within the same deadline), if it is in the interest of the volunteer.
  3. Those interested in receiving the certificate must request its issuance by sending a message, by email, to the Group's address ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ), within the period stipulated for that purpose in each academic year (between 1 and 15 June, except otherwise indicated). This period will be announced in a timely manner to all members of the Group.
  4. The certificate will be delivered on paper by the representative of the Organic Unit to which the volunteer belongs or by the Group Coordinator, during the month of July (or on a date to be scheduled between the volunteer and the representative of the Organic Unit). Exceptionally, if this delivery is not possible for any reason properly presented to the Group, the certificate can be scanned and sent by email.

Regardless of the certificates issued, student participation in volunteer activities within the scope of the UAlg V + Volunteer Group will be registered and communicated to Academic Services for the purpose of inclusion in the Diploma Supplement.

Situations not provided for in this document will be evaluated, on a case-by-case basis, by the Coordinating Committee of the UAlg V + Volunteer Group. In case of doubt, contact UAlg V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ) or your representative.

In order for your total hours of volunteering carried out in the UAlg V + Group (that is, with partner entities, always with the mediation of the UAlg V + Group and with timely delivery of the hours recorded), appear in the Diploma Supplement, this must ALWAYS be OVER 30 HOURS in TOTAL. If you comply with this rule, the UAlg V + Group will communicate to the Academic Services (usually in the month of April, before the end of the finalist year) the total number of hours worked. At the same time, you will be able to request the certificate itemized with the activities and hours carried out by the coordination of UAlg V +, within the expected period (usually between 1 and 15 June, so please keep an eye on your email).

If you do not meet the requirement of a minimum of 30 hours, you must request the certificate from the coordination of UAlg V +, within the scheduled period (usually between 1 and 15 June, so please keep an eye on your email) with the breakdown of activities and hours carried out.

In case of doubt, contact UAlg V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ) or your representative.

Your belonging to the UAlg V + Group will end when you wish. To do this, you only have to send an email to the coordination, with knowledge to your representative of the Organic Unit, informing of your intention to leave. If you want to stay, you do not need to inform, you only have to participate in the meetings (or inform your representative of your impossibility to be present) and carry out voluntary activities.

However, if you do not participate in any volunteer meeting or collaborate in any volunteering activity for a semester, your registration will transition from active to inactive. In case of doubt, contact UAlg V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ) or your representative.

The inactive state happens when you do not participate in any volunteer meeting, nor collaborate in any volunteer activity for a semester, your registration will transition from active to inactive. In this situation, you no longer receive emails and are not summoned to V + activities.

At any time, you can request the UAlg V + coordination to change your status, and you only need to send an email to gvvmais@ualg.pt with that request. If in doubt, contact your UAlg V + representative.

You can request your departure from the V + at any time, it is only necessary to send an email with your intention to leave for the coordination of the V + ( gvvmais@ualg.pt ), with knowledge to your representative of the Organic Unit. If in doubt, contact your UAlg V + representative.
