Conditions of access
Candidates for the degree in Geographic Information Systems must be:
● Holders of a degree in the scientific areas of natural sciences, engineering, IT, geography, landscape architecture or related areas, from a Portuguese university;
● Holders of a foreign higher academic degree awarded following a 1st cycle of studies, in the scientific areas referred to in a);
● Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum, recognized by the competent bodies of UAlg as sufficient to satisfy the objectives of the degree, in the scientific areas referred to in a), and suitable for carrying out this cycle of studies.
Criteria for selection of the candidates
Successive application of the following criteria:
National Candidates
- Final degree classification
- Assessment of the scientific and professional curriculum, taking into account other training and professional experience
Community Candidates
- Final degree classification
- Fluency in the Portuguese language demonstrated through an interview conducted in Portuguese and carried out face-to-face or online
- Assessment of the scientific and professional curriculum, taking into account other training and professional experience
Extra-Community Candidates
- Final degree classification
- Institution that awarded the aforementioned academic degree
- Fluency in the Portuguese language demonstrated through an interview conducted in Portuguese and carried out face-to-face or online
- Motivation Letter written in Portuguese
- Assessment of the scientific and professional curriculum, taking into account other training and professional experience
Necessary documentation
- Certificate of Qualifications, with a breakdown of the classifications obtained in each curricular unit;
- Curriculum Vitae (with personal, academic and professional data);
- Letter of Motivation (only for Extra-Community Candidates);
- Application Form;
- Proof of payment of the Application Fee.
