2nd edition of the "UAlg Researcher Award"

The 2nd edition of the "UAlg Researcher Award" opens for applications from 1 to 31 July 2023. This aims to distinguish and publicly recognize the researcher at the University of Algarve that for the work developed in the area of scientific research has stood out nationally and internationally.

The Prize will be awarded in the form of a diploma and a sum of five thousand euros.

To apply, it is necessary to have a legal-employment bond with UAlg, as a teacher or researcher with a duration of at least three uninterrupted years, reported to 31 December of the year prior to the edition of the competition. All information and requirements should be consulted in the Regulations of the Prize.

Applications are made exclusively through an online form.

The jury for the 2023 edition is composed of Doctor Alfonso Vargas Sánchez, Full Professor, Faculty of Business Science and Tourism, Universidad de Huelva; Doctor Luis Oosterbeek, Principal Coordinating Professor, Instituto Politécnico de Tomar; Doctor Rui Guerra, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Algarve, and Coordinator of the Centre for Electronics, Optoelectronics and Telecommunications (CEOT) ; Doctor Sara Raposo, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Algarve, and Coordinator of the Marine and Environmental Research Centre (CIMA) and Doctor Ricardo Neves, Assistant Researcher at the Centre for Neurosciences and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra

This award is mainly aimed at encouraging the participation of UAlg teachers and researchers in projects and in the internationalization of the Institution, with effective impacts on scientific productivity and the affirmation of excellence of the University of Algarve, as an institution that is part of the National Scientific and Technological System. It will be awarded in December of each calendar year, during the public ceremony on the University's Day.
