This is a PhD program in Mathematics. The mainstay of this PhD program is the quality of scientific research carried out by potential mentors.The list of thesis advisors and their research areas can be found here.
Objectives At the end of this program students should be capable of doing original research in mathematics.
Program outline The duration of the program is 4 academic years corresponding to 240 ECTS: 180 ECTS for the elaboration of an original thesis and 60 ECTS for an advanced training plan. Each student has his own advanced training plan detailing how the 60 ECTS can be obtained: taking examinations under the advisor's supervision; taking courses from other postgraduate program studies, attending mini courses, seminars or conferences; publishing papers with peer review.
Skills Ability to, independently, perform original research in Mathematics.
History In 2009 this program was adjusted to the "Bologna Process" (Deliberation n. º 1172/2009, published in DR, 2. ª s, n. º 77, of April 21, 2009).
