Throughout the week, representatives from the partner universities gathered to assess the Alliance's progress, discuss strategic priorities, and make decisions that will shape the future of the SEA-EU European Coastal Campus.

The most symbolic moment of this edition was the handover of the Alliance's presidency from the University of Brest (UBO) to the University of the Algarve. UAlg now assumes the presidency of SEA-EU for the next six months and will be responsible for hosting the upcoming Governing Week—the final one of the project's current cycle—which will take place in Faro from December 1 to 3, 2026.

During the Governing Board meeting, strategic cooperation agreements were also signed for the STORM joint master's program and for the Alliance's future joint doctoral program. This reinforces SEA-EU's commitment to transforming European higher education through cooperation in education, research, and innovation.

Furthermore, the rectors of the partner universities signed the SEA-EU Charter for a Sustainable Future, a document that reaffirms the Alliance's joint commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and building a more resilient future for European coastal communities.

The University of the Algarve's participation in this meeting strengthens its active role in consolidating the European University of the Seas and marks the beginning of a new chapter of leadership and responsibility in the development of the Alliance.
