The delegation of the European University of the Seas from the University of Cadiz came to UAlg to inaugurate the Monitoring Plan of the new members of the European consortium. The general coordinator of the Alliance, Fidel Echevarría, was present, along with the director general, Laura Howard, and the director of Planning and Monitoring, Antonio Javier González. From UAlg, the delegation was accompanied by the rector Paulo Águas and several members of the rectoral team.

At the end of July, the European Commission approved the renewal of the alliance, which was a success for the whole consortium, extending the number of members from six (Best Brittany, Cadiz, Kiel, Gdansk, Malta and Split) to nine, by including the universities of Algarve (Portugal), Naples Parthenope (Italy) and NORD (Norway).

In order to carry out a process of welcoming and getting to know each other, those responsible for coordinating the Alliance have drawn up a plan of visits and work sessions that allow for fluid collaboration from the outset.

It should be noted that this transnational campus, with more than 20 cities involved, hosts more than 150,000 students and 18,000 employees who will benefit from the objectives at the heart of this proposal. More mobility for all, inclusion, multilingualism and personal and professional development, available due to a wide network of shared resources.

At regional level, SEA-EU also has the following effective partners: Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR Algarve); Algarve Intermunicipal Community (AMAL); Docapesca - Portos e Lotas; Centre for Marine Sciences (CCMAR), Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) Association for a Sustainable and Intelligent Aquaculture (S2AQUA )- Collaborative Laboratory; Algarve Living Science Centre (CCV Algarve), Association of Marine Sciences and Cooperation (SCIAENA), Águas do Algarve; and Algarve Tourism Region (RTA).

This follow-up plan will continue in February with a visit to Naples Parthenope University in Italy and in March to Nord University in Norway.
